We already have the winners of the 5 year-old postcard contest!

During the month of March, we proposed a children’s competition in order to find the drawing that will illustrate the 5-year-old congratulatory postcard. As you know, for every birthday you get a greeting in the form of a postcard. However, this time we ran out of ideas, so we went in search of little artists… and what a beautiful surprise we had! Because we received more of 60 drawings full of colors and shapes.

The competition was divided into 3 different categories according to the age of our child volunteers from the Bisc project.

These are the categories:

1st CATEGORY: children 2 to 3 years old
2nd CATEGORY: children 3 to 4 years old
3rd CATEGORY: children aged 4 to 5 years

Among the postnatal team mates we were very carefully debating the final decision, which was not very easy as we liked all of the drawings. Nonetheless, we had to determine that the main criteria of this competition were that the creativity and the evolutionary process in the plastic expression of our protagonists of the BiSC Project was reflected.

The different categories have allowed us to observe this evolution.

For instance: at the age of 2 the scribble is no longer completely uncontrolled, the intentionality begins to represent some form with very rudimentary outlines, as well as attempts of spirals, dots or lines.

At the age of 3, the refinement of lines, dots, crosses or closed circles follows. They are already starting to give a name to what they draw, although it changes from the beginning to the end of the drawing. At the end of 3 years, the human figure appears, usually in the form of a “big head” with eyes and mouth, which they develop as they reach 4 years, adding legs, arms, hair…

At the age of 4, they enjoy using different colors and, in addition to the human figure, they begin to represent their own environment. Around the age of 5 they can combine shapes to form basic objects and images.

With that said, we are eager to share with you the winning drawings, wich are the ones you will find on the 5-year postcards that will arrive at your home.

We want to congratulate all the children who participated and thank you for the beautiful drawings you made. We are sure that we have many artists in our project, and we enjoy watching how they develop.
